That being the case, and based on other rumblings from the rumor mill, there exists a possibility that Apple this fall will release a 4.7-inch iPhone 7, an 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus and a 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Pro that will exclusively feature an advanced dual camera system. To read this article in full or to leave a comment, please click here

iPhone the most influential gadget of all time

When Steve Jobs first introduced the iPhone in 2007, he boldly exclaimed that it was a leapfrog product that was five years ahead of anything else on the market. And though Jobs was sometimes prone to hyperbole, his remarks about the iPhone were spot-on.Looking back, it's fair to say that Android didn't come close to reaching parity with the iPhone until about 2011 or 2012. Suffice it to say, the iPhone was a revolutionary device that completely changed the way the world interacts with technology. Not only did it quite literally put the internet in the pockets of millions of consumers, but it also ushered in the era of mobile apps—yet again changing the way consumers interact with technology. Today, I can use my iPhone to play games, listen to music, write reports, email with friends, pay for items at any number of stores, order food, track my exercise and much, much more. To read this article in full or to leave a comment, please click here

iPhone 7 may immediately be followed by the iPhone 8

Even though Apple last quarter generated $50.6 billion in revenue and $10.5 billion in profits last quarter (more than Google, Microsoft and Facebook combined), analysts came away disappointed. Specifically, analysts expressed concern regarding falling iPhone sales. In fact, this quarter marked the first time in history that Apple experienced a year over year drop in iPhone sales. For the quarter gone by, Apple sold 51.1 million iPhones compared to 61.7 million iPhones during the same quarter a year-ago. With many now worried that we've perhaps reached 'peak iPhone', Apple is now feeling a lot of pressure to really deliver with the iPhone 7. Further, because 'S' cycle refreshes typically focus on internal upgrades and thus don't generate as much excitement, Barclays analyst Mark Moskowitz believes that Apple might do away with the iPhone 7s altogether. Instead, the iPhone 7 may swiftly be followed by the iPhone 8 in 2017.To read this article in full or to leave a comment, please click here

Apple’s quarterly revenue drops for the first time since 2003

Apple earlier today released its Q2 2016 earnings and the results might leave investors a bit wary. When the dust settled, Apple reported $10.5 billion in profits on the back of $50.6 billion in revenue. And while those figures are certainly impressive, they are markedly lower than what Apple reported during the company's second fiscal quarter in 2015 when it posted $58 billion in revenue.Notably, this marks the first time that Apple's quarterly revenue experienced a year over year decline since 2003.Product wise, Apple sold 51.2 million iPhones, a significant drop-off from the 61.17 million iPhones Apple sold during the same quarter a year-ago. In fact, Apple's most recent quarter represents the first time that quarterly iPhone sales have dropped off. To read this article in full or to leave a comment, please click here

A new iPhone 7 concept video circulating across the web is absolutely mesmerizing and well worth taking a look at. Tesla Model 3 reservations tops 325,000

Even the most optimistic of Tesla enthusiasts couldn't have predicted how high demand for the Tesla Model 3 would turn out to be. Apple believes it can patch the iOS security exploit used by the FBI

After a multi-week battle that saw Apple and the FBI duke it out both in court and in the court of public opinion, the FBI finally managed to access a locked iPhone used by one of the San Bernardino shooters. Ultimately, the FBI reportedly relied upon an exploit from an Israeli software forensics company called Cellebrite to bypass the iPhone's built-in security mechanisms. While one might reasonably assume that this spells the end for what proved to be a contentious issue, that couldn't be farther from the truth. For starters, the DOJ has indicated that it won't think twice about seeking help from device manufacturers in future cases.A DOJ statement on the matter reads:To read this article in full or to leave a comment, please click here

FBI already using its iPhone hack to assist other criminal investigations

Apple's widely publicized battle with the FBI came to an unceremonious end this week when the DOJ filed a motion seeking to vacate a previous court order that would have forced Apple to help the FBI hack into the iPhone used by one of the San Bernardino terrorists. The impetus for the DOJ dropping its legal suit against Apple was that the FBI, with the assistance of a third party, finally managed to access the aforementioned iPhone's data without Apple's assistance. While the identity of the third party has never been confirmed, it's believed that an Israeli software forensics company called Cellebrite provided the FBI with a way in.And with not even a week having gone by, the FBI has reportedly begun using its recently acquired iPhone hacking solution in other criminal investigations. According to a report from the Associated Press, the FBI recently agreed to access a locked iPhone and iPod where were subject to a warrant as part of a homicide investigation in Little Rock, Arkansas. Officials involved in the case indicated that they have reason to believe that the devices contain evidence of the duo's pre-meditated murder plans. To read this article in full or Continue reading

Apple issues statement regarding DOJ suit: “This case should have never been brought”

The DOJ on Monday filed a brief seeking to vacate a previous court's ruling that would have required Apple to assist the FBI in hacking into a locked iPhone used by one of the San Bernardino shooters. The DOJ's motion seemingly brings to a conclusion a saga that has continued to make headlines since the story burst into the news a few weeks ago.According to the DOJ, the FBI no longer needs Apple's assistance because they managed to access the device's contents with the help of a third-party. While the identity of the third party was not revealed, it's been reported that the FBI received assistance from an Israeli software forensics company called Cellebrite. Whether that is true or not remains unknown, but we do know that the FBI did not receive any outside assistance from other government agencies like the NSA.To read this article in full or to leave a comment, please click here

FBI to hack into locked iPhone with help from Israeli company

Apple's saga with the FBI isn't over just yet, but it appears that the two entities are no longer on a collision course, legally speaking of course. Earlier this week, the DOJ filed a motion with the court overseeing the matter to postpone an upcoming hearing which was scheduled to take place on Tuesday. The reason? The DOJ relayed that the FBI may have found a way to access the locked iPhone of one of the San Bernardino terrorists with out Apple's assistance..As has been recounted before, the iPhone in question was equipped with a passcode and may have been set up to erase itself after 10 failed passcode entries. As a result, the FBI wanted Apple to create an entirely new and modified version of iOS that would have bypassed this security mechanism. In turn, the FBI would have been able to implement a brute force attack to access the device. To read this article in full or to leave a comment, please click here
